The Mexico's national badminton teams, Job Castillo Galindo and Luis Armando Montoya Navarro, achieved the bronze medal this Friday in men's doubles within the XVII Pan American Individual Championship 2024 held in Guatemala.

The medalists of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games fell in the semifinal phase against the American couple made up of Chen Zhi Yi and Presley Smith with a score of 2-1 (21-15, 13-21 and 10-21), a result that It meant third place in the competition.

The XVII Pan American Individual Championship 2024 meant for the national teams the last scoring event for the Olympic ranking of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) heading to Paris 2024, which closes next Sunday, April 28.

With the bronze medal, Job Castillo and Luis Montoya will be waiting for the official closure of the process to determine if they obtain Olympic classification, a fact that would be historic for Mexican badminton in this modality.
