In the General Archive of the Nation there are photographic collections of popular festivities, among them, weddings; an example of these compilations can be found in the Photographic Collection of Artistic and Literary Property. In this collection, photographs registered in the Fondo de Propiedad Artística y Literaria of the Secretaría de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes by photographers and companies, both national and foreign, have been grouped together.
The period covered by this compilation goes from 1897 to 1941, safeguarding a volume of 8723 pieces. On the other hand, the precinct of the historical memory keeps the Hermanos Mayo Fund, which includes visual records that show a vast number of aspects of the social, political, economic and cultural life of Mexico, the period covered by this fund goes from 1939 to 1982.
