Alejandra Estudillo Represents Americas in the Diving Final
Mexican diver Alejandra Estudillo finished sixth in the women's 3-meter springboard final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Despite being the only representative from the Americas, she competed against top-tier athletes and gained valuable experience.
National athlete Alejandra Estudillo Torres was among the six best divers in the world this Friday in the final of the women's 3-meter individual springboard event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Estudillo finished in sixth place with a score of 301.95 after five rounds, which marked the conclusion of her first participation in the summer competition.
"I wanted to enjoy it, I knew there was nothing else to do, I was already in an Olympic final, and what I wanted to do was live it," she said.
"I knew I had done a good job, living this experience is a dream for me, and I am very happy with the place I finished," she said.
Alejandra Estudillo competed in the final as the only representative of the American continent, in a race won by China's Yiwen Chen with 376.00 points, followed by Australia's Maddison Keeney, with 343.10 and also by China's Yani Chang, with 318.75.
“I went from less to more, at first I felt nervous, but then I relaxed, I felt calm with what I know how to do, and I enjoyed every moment,” she shared.
“I faced great competitors, who have been world medalists; I like it, it motivates me, I learned a lot from them by watching them and how they do their dives, I acquire that experience,” she said.
The young diver was in charge of closing the activity of the Mexican women's branch in the discipline, while this Saturday Randal Willars and Kevin Berlin will compete on the last day of the individual 10-meter platform in the final stretch of the Olympic Games.
