Animal Crossing is a series that subtly explores various cultures of the world. It does this with collectible objects that are inspired by the history of cultures of different parts of the world. One that has been absent from this saga is the Mexican one, but that will change with Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

To exemplify this, the company confirmed that in this Nintendo Switch installment we will be able to capture monarch butterflies and dress our character in a poblana Chinese dress. At the moment it is not known if it will be the only thing or if there will be other elements of the Mexican culture.

That's not all, since Nintendo also announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be the first installment of the series with a location for Latin America. This way, players will be able to enjoy it in Spanish that feels more natural and closer than deliveries like Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

What do you think of this detail? What other Mexican elements would you like to see in Animal Crossing? Tell us in the comments. Animal Crossing: New Horizons will arrive on March 20, 2020, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
