The national taekwondo selection, Carlos Adrián Sansores Acevedo, traveled this Sunday to Spain, to carry out the last part of his preparation for Paris 2024, a fair that represents his second date in the Olympic Games, after Tokyo 2020.

“We will be in Barcelona to polish details and adapt to the schedule, it will be our last preparation camp for the Olympic Games, we are very happy, the truth is that the process has been very enjoyable, very cool, so we are ready for this contest, I'm going with everything, I'm representing my people, Mexico, we are going with everything, and I'm going for Mexico,” he said.

The Pan American champion of Santiago 2023 did most of his training in the facilities of the National Center for the Development of Sports Talents and High Performance (CNAR), under the supervision of Alfonso Victoria and with the support of two sparrings.

“Now my sparring partners, Iker Casas and Ruben Nava, are the ones who have been supporting me through thick and thin, who have been behind me, supporting me, taking care of me, beating me, so we are very happy that they can be with us at the Olympic Games, in the villages, helping me prepare for this competition,” said Sansores.

The native of Cancun, Quintana Roo, who has three world medals to his name, silver in Manchester 2019, gold in Guadalajara 2022 and silver in Baku 2023, will be in Barcelona for two weeks.

“I arrive in Paris on August 4, my participation is on August 10, then there are a few days of preparation, however, by then we will already be coupled in schedule, then we are ready. On the day of my fight my wife and my sister will be there, they will be there cheering me on, and I am very excited and motivated”, he added.

Finally, the taekwondo player emphasized: “I ask the public to support us, not only me, but the whole Mexican delegation that will be representing us in the Olympic Games, please follow us, we are all going with the dream of bringing a medal to Mexico, we are going with the motivation to win and everything is for Mexico”.
