Currently, the Secretariat of Mobility of the State of Mexico (Semov) is migrating the physical driver's license to a digital version, to facilitate the process, achieve portability of the document and put anti-corruption locks.
This digital application of Semov was launched during the pandemic by Covid-19 and since May 17 it has been officially valid. It should be noted that this license has 15 security locks, including a QR code, hidden data key, NFC code, hologram, and others. This digital document has a dynamic QR code, which changes every time the file is opened, making it impossible to corrupt.
These are the steps to obtaining a digital driver's license
The first thing to do is to download the mobile application Digital Driver's License Edomex, which is free and at the moment is only available for cell phones with the Android operating system.
Once inside the app, the user will have to press the "Add License" button. Then, on the back of the physical license, you will have to look for a QR code, which you will have to scan.
To authenticate, the application asks for your biometric data of the face, so you must scan your face on the screen from the front and in your profile.
