Cancun welcomes "Germany's Forrest Gump" with cheers and applause

After running 60,000 kilometers and 70 countries, ultra-marathon runner Jonas Deichmann, better known as the "German Forrest Gump", arrived in Cancun, Quintana Roo, where he was greeted with applause and cheers.

The ultra-marathon runner Jonas Deichmann, better known as the "German Forrest Gump", arrived in Cancun, Quintana Roo, after having run 60 thousand kilometers and 70 countries, so the population received him with applause and cheers.

The event was broadcast on social networks, where Mara Lezama, president of the municipality of Benito Juarez, shared a video in which the German can be seen entering the city accompanied by other runners and press personnel who recorded his feat.

"Jonas, we welcome you in Cancun with open arms. Thank you for choosing our city as the goal of your great race. You have provided inspiration and hope in every step".

The local president added that the continental and world cycling records set by this "German Forrest Gump", in addition to the 60,000 kilometers and 70 countries covered, are testimony that dreams can be achieved, that "when you put heart and spirit into what you do, everything can be achieved".

On his Twitter account, the governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Manuel Joaquín González, also spoke about the arrival of the "German Forrest Gump" to Cancun. Carlos Joaquín welcomed the ultra-marathon runner to Mexico and its beaches in Spanish and German.
