After five editions at CONADE Nationals, middle distance runner Israel Tinajero Álvarez closed his cycle in the greatest sporting event with a gold medal in the U-23 800 meter dash event on the track of the Revolución Sports Center in Guadalajara.

The local athlete clocked 1:48.62 minutes in a close final with José Manuel Rodríguez from Sonora, who had a time of 1:48.77, both leaving third place for Mark López from Queretaro with 1:51.26.
