The daughter of Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho," Jessica Johanna Oseguera González, was released from prison after spending 25 months in a US federal prison.
Jessica Johanna Oseguera González, daughter of Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho," was released after spending 25 months in a US federal prison. The US Federal Bureau of Prisons database confirmed that Oseguera González was released on March 14.
The daughter of "El Mencho" was sentenced to 30 months in prison in July 2021, accused of participating in transactions with six Mexican companies that the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had previously designated as being owned by "drug traffickers.
After she pleaded guilty for the first time to violating the Kingpin Act. Jessica Johanna Oseguera was arrested on February 27, 2020, in Washington, D.C., just 13 days after a warrant was issued for her arrest on the aforementioned charges.
The U.S. government maintains the offer of $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Juan Carlos Valencia González, identified as the stepson of the leader of the Jalisco Cartel - New Generation (CJNG). Johanna's father, Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho," is the leader of the CJNG, and her uncle, Abigael González Valencia, leader of "Los Cuinis," were also sanctioned by OFAC in April 2015.
