Mexican women's golf made its debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after the selected Gabriela López Butrón and María José Fassi Álvarez participated in the first round of the individual stroke play that takes place at the prestigious Le Golf National course, located on the outskirts of the French capital.

Gaby López got off to a good start by closing the first 18 holes with 70 strokes and two under par, in which she achieved five birdies and three bogeys to position herself as the third best in the general classification of a total of 60 golfers and only two strokes away from second place.

For her part, María Fassi is in 50th place after signing a card of 78 strokes (+6), in a round of two birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey.

Host Celine Boutier led the start of the discipline after finishing with a score of 65 (-7), followed by South African Ashleigh Buhai with a result of 68 (-4).

On August 8, the national team will be in action in the second round of the women's individual stroke play when Gaby López begins her participation at 03:17 hours central Mexico time, while María Fassi presents at 03:33 (TCM).
