Mexican Archers Aim for the Bullseye…and Paris!
Mexico's para archery team is aiming for the Paris 2024 Paralympics at the Fazza World Ranking Tournament in Dubai. Samuel Molina Núñez, Liliana Montiel Orozco, and Gerardo Rodríguez Banda look to secure more spots for Mexico.
Mexico's para archery team is loading up their quivers and taking dead aim at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games! The scene is set for the 8th Fazza Para Archery World Ranking Tournament in Dubai, where Samuel Molina Núñez, Liliana Montiel Orozco, and Gerardo Rodríguez Banda are hoping to turn the desert heat into Paralympic qualification fire.
These archers aren't just slinging arrows for fun–they mean business. Mexico's already got a couple of spots locked in for the Paralympics thanks to Molina Núñez's golden performance at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games and Víctor Sardina Viveros reaching the final rounds within the same competition.
But Dubai isn't about resting on those laurels. Starting tomorrow, the field will be buzzing with practice arrows flying. Then, Sunday marks the real deal – the qualification rounds where only the steadiest hands and nerves will prevail. After Dubai, it's still not over for our Mexican heroes. The Parapan American Championship in April is yet another chance to punch those Paralympic tickets with a perfectly placed arrow (or two…or three!).
Why We'll Be Watching
Archery, especially para archery, demands a unique blend of strength and serenity. It's the kind of sport where heartbeats can almost be heard with the silence between each shot. Think of it as the high-stakes drama of darts mixed with the meditative precision of yoga, and you'll understand why we'll be glued to the results.
So, raise a metaphorical bow supporting Mexico's archery squad. We'll be rooting for every arrow to find its mark on the path to Paralympic glory.
