Mexican Taekwondo Athletes Know Their Olympic Opponents

Mexican taekwondo stars Daniela Souza and Carlos Sansores will compete in the round of 16 at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Souza faces Tunisia's Dhahri on Aug. 7 in the -49 kg category, while Sansores fights Guinea-Bissau's Gomis on Aug. 10 in the +80 kg division.

The Mexican taekwondo teams already know their opponents in the round of 16 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after the draw that was carried out to put together the graphics for the tournament that will take place at the Grand Palais in the French capital.

Daniela Paola Souza Naranjo will face Ikram Dhahri of Tunisia this Wednesday, August 7, in the round of 16 of the -49 kilos category. 17 competitors face each other in this category.

In her list of achievements, Daniela Souza has the gold medal from the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games and the gold medal from the Guadalajara 2022 World Championship.

On Friday, August 10, Carlos Adrián Sansores Acevedo will face Paivou Johnouario Gomis of Guinea-Bissau in the round of 16, in the +80 kilograms division.

Carlos Sansores is a three-time world medalist, with a silver medal from Manchester 2019, gold from Guadalajara 2022 and silver from Baku 2023. He is also the current Pan American champion from Santiago 2023.
