Mexico will compete with world champions in Pan American Weightlifting
Mexico will be presented with world-class competitors in the Pan-American Weightlifting Championships, to be held in Guatemala.
Mexico won three gold medals by Jonathan Muñoz and Ana López at the Pan-American Weightlifting Championships, held in the Guatemalan capital. In the category of 67 kilograms, Muñoz won two gold medals with 170 kilos in clean and then in total with 304. While Lopez, in the division of 55 kilos, obtained gold in the boot mode with 92 kilos. She then monopolized the bronze in total with 202.
In this way, both competitors added three gold medals on the day of this Wednesday. In addition, Muñoz reached a silver start mode with 134 kilos. While Lopez was covered with bronze in the total, with 202. At the end of the competition, the first start was for the Colombian José Osorio (135 kg), and the third was the American Jordan Derek Wissinger (130). The second place went to Osorio (166) and in third, the Peruvian Luis Bardalez finished (161). In total, the Colombian was second (295), followed by local Edgar Pineda (291).
Regarding the division of 55 kilos; in the start, Colombian Yenny Sinisterra was second with 91 and third American Jourdan de la Cruz 91. De la Cruz was first with 116, the Ecuadorian Alexandra Escobar second with 113, and the Colombian Sinisterra, third with 110. To finish, in total, the American De la Cruz won gold with 207 and the Ecuadorian Escobar silver with 203 kilos.
