The national track cycling team will go into action this Wednesday at the Pan American Championships of the specialty that will be held from April 3 to 7 in Los Angeles, United States, searching for adding world ranking points from the International Cycling Union (UCI), with the aim of obtaining a ticket to the Olympic Games.

The VELO Sports Center located in the Dignity Health sports park complex in the city of Carson, California, will be responsible for receiving the Mexican delegation made up of 18 cyclists, in a competition supported by the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI).

In particular, the competition will be of special importance for the Mexicans Jessica Salazar, Yuli Verdugo and Daniela Gaxiola, who are in the zone of advancing to Paris 2024, so they will have to defend their position facing the final stretch of the qualification period, which concludes on April 14 at the end of the Nations Cup in Milton, Canada.

Among the participating countries are: Uruguay, Venezuela, Bahamas, Canada, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United States and Mexico.

Individual pursuit: Victoria Velasco Fuentes.
Team pursuit: Victoria Velasco Fuentes, Yareli Acevedo Mendoza, Lizbeth Yarely Salazar Vázquez and María Antonieta Gaxiola González.
