Rubber Paddle Ratchet Duo Secures Nations League Spot
Isaac Pérez Pérez and Jorge Olvera González win 2nd phase of Argentina's Rubber Paddle Ratchet Championship, qualifying for the Basque Pelota Nations League in Paris! Teamwork and resilience key to their victory.
The couple made up of Isaac Pérez Pérez and Jorge Olvera González, won the second phase of the 2024 National Rubber Paddle Ratchet Championship that was held at the National Center for the Development of Sports Talents and High Performance (CNAR).
As established by the FMX Federation and Pel Vasca A.C., the event grants qualification for the Nations League of the specialty organized by the International Federation of Basque Pelota (FIPV) and will be held from September 22 to 29 in Paris, France.
Isaac Pérez explained that the result obtained this weekend is the product of teamwork after beating the couple made up of Isaac Maximiliano Cruz Torres and Rafael Benjamín Ortiz Bugarini in the final, while the bronze went to Jean André Raya del Valle and Josué Becerra.
“Very happy to be able to win the second phase and above all, the feeling of unity with my teammate, fighting with everything to win the tournament. Now we have to continue preparing ourselves on the field and physically to maintain the pace of the game, as well as fine-tune things that have cost us in the first two phases,” said Pérez.
In addition to continuing with his optimal preparation, the national athlete also expressed that he is focused on achieving good results within the season to qualify for the international event where the best exponents in the world perform.
“I think about qualifying and feeling good playing, when the process is finished and if we achieve qualification, it will be time to think about the nations league, for now, in my head I only have to finish this period of tournaments as best as possible, continue training and striving for the better results,” he added.
In accordance with what is established by the FMX Federation and Pel Vasca A.C., the third and final phase of the National Championship is scheduled to take place in Guadalajara, Jalisco, on May 11 and 12.
