Shrimp and tequila recipe, an explosion of flavors
This recipe combines two great Mexican products, one from the sea and the other from the countryside. Shrimp is the king of seafood and tequila is the king of beverages. Take a look.
In Mexican cuisine we always find ingredients to make the most exquisite combinations, such is the case of tequila shrimp, which fuse the flavors of the sea with those of the land, reminding us that our coasts and our countryside have an infinity of foods to offer us, thanks, of course, to the work of the men and women who fish and harvest what they grow there.
The origin of this delicacy is attributed to Jalisco, because this is the birthplace of Tequila, a drink that has brought great fame to our country and whose industry is one of the most emblematic, both for its quality and for what it represents in terms of economic development of the entities that produce it, which is demonstrated by the record figures it reached in 2020 in the production and export of the drink, as well as in agave consumption.
As for shrimp production in Mexico, we can also say that it is growing, since 7 thousand 293 tons more were produced in 2019, compared to 2018. We are ranked 7th as shrimp producers worldwide, reaching the figure of 237 thousand 647 tons.
Shrimp is a resource that is caught on the high seas in its wild form with sustainable fishing methods, but it is also a product that can be cultivated through shrimp farms, of which in the national territory there are, according to data from CONAPESCA, about 1,447 dedicated to the production, marketing and distribution of this valuable food.
Now that we know how valuable are, in every way, the ingredients that make up the dish "shrimp with tequila", we invite you to let your imagination free to create your version, or consult a recipe for you to prepare it, in both cases, enjoy it very much!
