Alleged Sinaloa Cartel Operator 'El 08' Linked to 'Chapo' Guzmán's Brother Arrested
Sinaloa authorities have arrested 'El 08', an alleged operator of the Sinaloa Cartel linked to Aureliano Guzmán Loera, brother of 'El Chapo' Guzmán. The arrest was made during a kidnapping operation in which the victim was found and released.
On March 11th, Sinaloa authorities arrested 'El 08', an alleged operator of the Sinaloa Cartel linked to Aureliano Guzmán Loera, brother of 'El Chapo' Guzmán, after responding to a kidnapping complaint.
The victim was found and released at the private Barcelo Platino on Ecuador Road. The State Police, Army, and National Guard collaborated in the operation that led to 'El 08's arrest. He was found possessing various weapons and drugs, which led to his transfer to federal authorities.
This is the fourth arrest of an individual belonging to Aureliano Guzmán Loera's criminal group. Federal forces have sought the group for several weeks in the Golden Triangle, which borders Sinaloa, Durango, and Chihuahua. On February 23rd, three individuals were also arrested in Badiraguato with an arsenal and bulletproof vests sporting the 'CDG' symbol of the Guano Cartel.
During the operation that led to 'El 08's arrest, a patrol car of the Culiacán Municipal Police had an accident with a private vehicle, resulting in minor injuries to one adult and one minor.
