What is indigestion?

When you have stomach pain, your lower digestive tract is likely to experience indigestion. It is often triggered by eating spicy or fatty foods or drinking alcohol or caffeine-containing beverages.

What is heartburn?

Also known as reflux, heartburn occurs in the upper digestive tract. It causes chest pain and is often triggered by fatty foods or alcohol. Acid reflux is a signal for you to change your diet.

Teas

Anise

Anise contains a substance called anethole that helps to lighten food, fight indigestion, excess gas, and reduce bloating in the abdomen, has a soothing effect that reduces abdominal pain and serves as a gastric protector. Avoid it if you have liver disease or gastritis. Pour a tablespoon of anise into a cup of boiling water. Cover and let it steep. Strain and drink.

Cumin

Cumin is indicated for the treatment of indigestion. Its properties help to eliminate accumulated gases in the intestine and reduce inflammation and heaviness. In a cup with hot water put a teaspoon of cumin, let it infuse, filter, and serve.

Ginger

Used to treat digestive problems for centuries, ginger can relieve stomach acidity by helping to reduce stomach acid production. Ginger can also relieve nausea, which can be helpful after a copious reheating. cut a few slices of ginger root and put them in hot water and serve in a cup.

Coriander seeds

Coriander seeds are known for their anti-inflammatory and indigestion-relieving properties. In India, people often chew a handful of ginger, cumin, coriander, fennel, and cardamom seeds after a meal to aid digestion. Coriander has a more cooling effect and stimulates the production of digestive enzymes. Put a teaspoon of coriander seed powder in boiling water for a simple remedy for indigestion.

Boldo

Boldo contains an essential oil known as cineol, which acts as a tonic for the liver and digestive system. It is excellent for indigestion, helps to soothe the acidity in the stomach, and reduces pain and inflammation. Add a teaspoon of dried boldo to a cup of hot water, let it steep, filter, and drink it.

Peppermint

The compounds in mint relieve the symptoms of indigestion. However, avoid it if you have heartburn, as it can cause more discomfort. Choose a few fresh mint leaves from the plant and put them in a cup of hot water. If you don't have fresh mint, use peppermint tea bags.
