The national team member Kenia Lechuga Alanís qualified this Wednesday for the Semifinal A/B of the lightweight women's single sculls event at the World Rowing Championships held in St. Catharines, Canada.

The athlete, a three-time Olympian, advanced to the final stretch of the competition by overcoming the repechage round in first place with a time of 08:24.02 minutes, beating German Marion Reichardt, South African Nadia Gaspari, and Italian Silvia Crosio.

Kenia Lechuga will return to the Royal Canadian Henley track on August 23 to compete in the semifinal, where she will face representatives from the United States, Great Britain, Austria, Greece, and Poland, while that same day, fellow Olympian Alexis López will do the same in the men's category against Hong Kong, Ireland, Austria, Algeria, and Belgium.

In the U-23 category, André Simsch secured his place in the Final C after finishing the Semifinal C/D in second place with a time of 07:45.99 minutes, only behind Brazilian Breno Felix with 07:44.37.

The multi-medalist at CONADE 2024 Nationals will compete in the last round of the competition this Thursday, August 22 against Brazil, Argentina, Chinese Taipei, Lithuania, and Uruguay.
