Quintana Roo is taking measures to ensure the safety of tourists, especially foreigners seeking warmth on Tulum's beaches during the winter season. Learn more about their efforts in our article.
Authorities in Quintana Roo are putting up security measures at the main beaches and meeting spots to stop illegal activities and keep tourists safe, especially foreigners who want to get away from the cold weather in North America.
The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) has partnered with the Coordination Group for the Construction of Peace and Security in Quintana Roo to conduct surveillance operations on the beaches of Tulum.
The goal of this operation is to maintain public order, peace, and security in beach areas. To reach this goal, the state corporation is working with the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR) to run ground tours from the beaches of Tábano to the Mayan Arch of the tourist destination.
During these tours, security agents are monitoring the perimeter to prevent and detect illegal activities. They are also engaging in social proximity with citizens and national and international tourists. These activities in Tulum will be ongoing throughout the year, and all operations will be continually evaluated.
People are encouraged to call the emergency lines at 911 or 089 to report any suspicious activities or real emergencies.
