Tamul Waterfall, San Luis Potosi
Nestled in the Huasteca Potosina, between the walls of a narrow canyon. Considered the highest waterfall in the state, at 105 meters high. To visit it is possible to take a boat ride that allows you to admire the contrast between the color of the water and the vegetation or go to the viewpoint to see the waterfall from above. It is a tour that offers several options, such as rappelling down the side of the waterfall.
El Chiflón Waterfall, Chiapas
Among the attractions of Comitán is the Chiflón Waterfall, which is fed by the San Vicente River and has a staggering fall of 120 meters high. Before reaching it you have to hike along several trails that lead to other waterfalls: El Suspiro, La Corona, Ala de Angel, and the Cueva de Los Murciélagos. At the foot of these and along the river, beautiful turquoise-blue pools of water are formed, resembling natural pools.
Piedra Bolada and Basaseachi Waterfalls, Chihuahua
These two magnificent waterfalls, considered the highest in the country, are located 240 kilometers from the city of Chihuahua. The National Park where they are located is in the mountainous area of the Sierra Tarahumara and offers diverse attractions for nature lovers.
The Piedra Bolada Waterfall, or Volada as it is known, is the deepest in Mexico, at 453 meters. It is located in the Candameña Ravine, whose canyons stand out for the verticality of its walls. Its fall is appreciated in the rainy season because during the dry season it disappears temporarily.
The Baseasachi Waterfall, in the same park, has 246 meters of free fall. The tour guides offer walks along the cobblestone path, which is next to the river and takes you to the viewpoints, to reach the base of the waterfall. There is also access for people in wheelchairs.
Agua Azul Waterfalls, Chiapas
This group of waterfalls stands out for the beauty of its turquoise blue waters, framed by the abundant vegetation of the region. They are located 133 kilometers from San Cristobal de las Casas. The tours depart from the city of Palenque and take you to visit the different waterfalls and natural pools that have formed, and in which you can swim. Its beautiful color comes from the limestone riverbed, which can be seen mainly during the dry season.
Cola de Caballo Waterfall, Nuevo León
This beautiful waterfall is located within the Cumbres de Monterrey National Park and receives its name from the strands of water that resemble the tail of this animal. It has a natural drop of 27 meters and is one of the main tourist attractions in Valle de Santiago. In front of the waterfall, there is a bridge that allows you to admire it from its beginning. On one side of Cola de Caballo, there is a stream and an area with tables and grills for camping.
Tuliman Waterfall, Puebla
The sierra of Zacatlan holds natural treasures such as this waterfall, which is located within the Tuliman Ecological Park. The waterfall is formed by waterfalls about 300 meters high, whose water comes from the Salto de Quetzalapa. To get to the park where it is located, it is necessary to go to Zacatlán, Puebla.
