Following a recent earthquake in the Caribbean, fears of a potential tsunami surged. However, a leading expert has reassured residents that the region's unique geological makeup and distant location from major tectonic faults mean they are at minimal risk.
Esteban Amaro, head of the Caribbean Environmental Monitoring and Climate Change Network, stated emphatically, "The possibility of a tsunami is very low in Quintana Roo."
